Welcome! We are the team behind Koiusa.com, we started this blog because we love taking care of aquarium creatures, and we wanted to share our passion with the world.
We’re using personal experience, published studies, and lots of anecdotal evidence from our time spent on fish forums. We aim to deliver the best, most trusted advice when it comes to starting or growing your fishkeeping hobby.
During our journey, while taking part in many online discussions, we realized thousands of fish owners are facing all sorts of issues with their aquariums.
We don’t qualify ourselves as vets that can give you factual information on fish BUT our team are seasoned publishers that are experienced in building editorial teams that are legally qualified to give advice for your fish and that’s what we did with Koiusa.

Alex Wayne – Editor in Chief
Alex is a pet freelance writer and editor with more than 10 years of experience. He attended Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, which was where he first got some experience in animal nutrition.
After graduating from University, Alex began sharing his knowledge as a freelance writer specializing in pets.
As the Editor in Chief of Koiusa.com, Alex manages all of the content on the site. He also supervises the team of contributing writers and editors, who help to create detailed care guides, helpful tips, and informative articles that you’ll find on the site.
Alex has cared for many different kinds of fish, and aquarium pets over the year. Besides fish care guides, he has also written about aquatic plants and many tips for aquarists who want to build their fantastic home aquariums.
Miley Paige – Senior Editor
Miley is a managing editor with more than five years of experience. She has worked for Pet Care Magazine and written about 200 in-depth articles covering a variety of topics from betta fish to cichlids and tetra species.
As the Senior Editor of Koiusa.com, Miley oversees the day-to-day operations of the site. She also works closely with the editorial team to ensure that all of the content is of the highest quality.
Miley currently lives in Cookeville, TN with her husband and children, and she also owns a small aquarium supply. Her husband helps her to manage the business and she spends most of her time writing and editing articles.
Tiffany Hansley – Content Developer
Tiffany is a content developer and freelance writer with more than five years of experience. She is a passionate fish lover who grew up in a household full of large aquariums.
