While nightlife is supposed to be dynamic by nature, even the wildest of dancefloors can get repetitive after a while. Even in the biggest of cities, you’ll start seeing familiar faces every weekend, the playlist will start feeling the same, and you’ll have a hard time telling one night from the other.

One of the ways to break this monochromatic loop is to find a themed night to attend. While this may sound like something unique, something that you don’t see every day, there’s always something unique going on in a city such as Minneapolis.

So, here are a few ways you can find themed parties or just attend events that will feel out of your usual routine. Here’s what you need to look out for.

Why are concerts and live shows different? Well, there are a few reasons.

We’ve already mentioned that the playlist may start feeling the same, but live music always has a hint of uniqueness and unpredictability. You never know what might happen and when a band may honor a special request from its audience members and perform a song you’ve never heard live before.

It’s also not the same crowd. Playlists tend to be more generic and catch-all, while live performances attract a specific crowd. If it’s a more famous band, they may have dedicated fans who might turn up just for the event, meaning you’ll see many new faces in the crowd. They might appear wearing band T-shirts and dressing in a certain fashion, which is also a difference in the overall appeal and aesthetics of the event.

There’s always something going on, so just check out what’s out there in Minneapolis by the end of the week. One of the simplest ways to figure it out is to check out sites selling tickets, seeing as how you can easily adjust filters just to show you events in the Minneapolis area.

Remember to pick the type of event you want since the results will mix up stand-up with musical events, etc.

  • Color-themed party

A themed party is always a unique experience, especially color-themed. This way, it resembles something from a dream sequence or a musical. While it may sound basic and unimpressive to some, anyone who has ever experienced it has a completely different outlook. The term that most of them would use is a – visual spectacle

Black-and-white parties are the most common because they require the least effort and are the most flattering to everyone. It’s much easier to look good in black, white, or a combination of these colors.

These parties also give the organizers a chance to express their creativity fully. You see, as a partygoer, all you must do is find the right outfit. They need to match every aspect of the event. They must pick cocktails based on the color, find the right decoration, and many other similar things. They even have to pick the soundtrack that goes with that color (as incredible as that may sound).

Another thing worth mentioning is that these color-themed parties are quite common for branded events. In this particular scenario, the organizers adopt the brand color as the party’s theme, which makes sense and reinforces the branding.

In Minneapolis, this type of themed party can be commonly seen at The Pourhouse. Check it out!

  • Cabaret

Some so many people enjoy the intimate atmosphere and diverse performances of cabaret. This is a live music experience with such compelling storytelling and narration that will simply have you coming back for more. It’s like a more passionate opera, with far more audience interaction. Even its historical and cultural allure is nothing to be looked down on.

The best part is that you have so many cabaret venues near Minneapolis.

If you’re interested in enjoying this event, full of timeless elegance and glamour, as well as a chance to escape from reality, just look up events near you and book a table. We suggest you book a table since this form of entertainment is far more popular than you think.

Also, keep in mind that whatever you know about cabaret is just a surface level; fortunately, in Minneapolis, you can witness everything from small venue improvisations to the lavish cabaret spaces that will make you feel like you’ve time-traveled to an era when this format was still new and revolutionary.

  • Seasonal and holiday events

Some events, on the other hand, happen every year, so if you’re not from Minneapolis, you might want to plan your visit around this event. There are so many festivals, some of which extend into the nightfall.

For instance, the Twin Cities Pride Festival will overflow into the nightlife venues quite drastically. There may be more pride events, drag shows, and dance parties during that period.

Another example is the Stone Arch Bridge festival. During that period, nearby nightlife venues may host special events and work at an increased capacity. These kinds of local festivals are not endemic to Minneapolis or even the United States, but they have so much to offer.

One event unique to Minneapolis (since other cities may have events similar to what we’ve previously described) is the Zombie Pub Crawl, arguably the largest one in the world. It’s close to Halloween and a unique opportunity to visit as many places as possible in a single night. Now, provided that you remember much of this tour (which is not a given), you might find a place that might be worth revisiting later.

Remember that while these events only happen occasionally, in a city this size, there’s always an event or two going on. So, if you want to stir up things a bit, it might be worth your while to check the event calendar and plan your night out.

Wrap up

In a city with a vibrant nightlife, there’s always a themed party or a special event to choose from. In other words, if your nightlife experience is starting to look the same all the time, it’s not the city or the nightlife – it’s you. It’s your lack of effort to find something unique and different out of all the amazing options that you have out there.
